Actors interested in working with Azuka should mail a headshot and resume to:
Azuka Theatre
1700 Sansom Street, Suite 800
Philadelphia, PA 19103

Azuka Theatre is no longer accepting unsolicited script submissions via email. At Azuka, we know that no one is more of an underdog than the American Playwright, and we are working hard to develop ways of reaching writers without exhausting the limited resources of a small company, and wasting the time of writers whose time is limited enough already.

Our commitment to new plays hasn't changed. That's why we joined the National New Play Network and actively use the New Play Exchange to find new writers. If you've taken a look at our production history and mission, and you honestly think you've got the perfect play for us, visit us on the New Play Exchange and take a look at our Spotlight Opportunity. If your play fits the criteria we've set out, it will allow you to submit. We can't respond individually, but we will do our best to take a look.

We are proud to be one of the region's major producers of new plays by Philadelphia-area writers, and will continue our commitment to local playwrights. We actively attend readings by local writers and work with organizations like The Foundry and PlayPenn to stay abreast of what's happening in our community. Though we are no longer accepting 10 page samples, we encourage local writers to come see our work (now even easier with our Pay What You Decide initiative) and, if you think Azuka is truly a good fit for your play, stick around and introduce yourself!

We know that this new policy will be disappointing to some writers. We will continue to evolve, reflect and refine as we consider the best ways to serve our community. Thank you for your interest in Azuka.
