An Azuka Theatre New Professionals Production & Philadelphia Premiere!
September 21 - October 9, 2016
Louis Bluver Theatre at The Drake | 302 S. Hicks Street
By Idris Goodwin
Directed by Raelle Myrick-Hodges

Hank, Julian, and Luann are three talented, determined suburban teens coming of age in the 1980s. Dreaming of fame and fortune in the new Hip-Hop music scene, they must overcome cultural isolation, familial dysfunction, and ruthless rivalries to make the music that defines their lives. A sultry DJ spins their stories with her own meta-theatrical perspective in this contemporary ode to the roots of rap.

PLEASE NOTE: We have ADDED a performance on Saturday, October 8 @ 2:00pm! Due to the popularity of this production, we've created an online waiting list for all fully-booked performances. We have been able to seat most of our waiting list patrons and, if you do not hear from us before the day of the performance, encourage you to take the chance and come to the theater about 20 minutes before the performance!

Audience members are invited to stick around following every performance to share their thoughts on the show, ask questions and reflect on the play. This is a causal conversation moderated by a member of the Azuka staff. For more Azuka Extras events, please check out our calendar!
