Clare Wislar
Properties Designer
Clare Wislar (she/her) is an artist for film, theater, and real life based in Philadelphia. After graduating with a BFA in Communication Arts from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2023, She moved to Philly for the Walnut Street Theatre Apprentice program. Since then Clare has been a full-time freelance artist and Facebook Marketplace enthusiast.
Theater companies she has done prop work for include: The Arden Theatre Company, InterAct Theatre Company, EgoPo Classic Theatre, Theatre By Development, and The Wolf Performing Arts Center.
As a props designer Clare relies solely on human intelligence to generate concepts and ideas, as well as prioritizing renting, thrifting, and fabrication for shows over purchasing from big business.
In both theater and fine arts spaces, Clare creates work that's meant to be interacted with; each detail positioned with purpose and intention.
